Or must I say pretentious-bourgeois-heteronormative-male-gaze-softcore-depilated-suitable-for-framing-tribadism-alternating-with-endless-middlebrow-festering-about-a-certain-Existentialist-who-has-barely-registered-in-the-minds-of-grown-up-French-people-for-several-decades-now tripe? Meanwhile, the once reliable Anthony Lane (The New Yorker, 28 August 2013) had the temerity to mention Zonca’s The Dreamlife of Angels as a point of reference. Really?
